All letters are delivered by Royal Mail to addresses across the UK. You'll receive two letters per month typically around the 1st and 15th. They arrive in a flat, letterbox-friendly envelope, so there's no need to be home or visit the sorting office. Delivery is included in the price of your subscription.

Absolutely. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. If you cancel mid-cycle, you'll continue to receive letters until the end of your current billing period. There are no cancellation fees, no fuss, and no hard feelings though we'll miss you.

Each letter contains a chapter of an unfolding fictional story, written in the voice of a character from a specific historical period. The letters are between 1,500 and 2,000 words, printed on beautiful heavyweight paper with period-inspired design details. They arrive in a hand-lettered envelope, sealed and ready to be opened with a cup of tea.

Our stories are written for an adult audience, though they contain nothing explicit think of them as you would a period drama on the BBC. The themes include romance, mystery, loss, and wartime life. We'd say they're best suited for readers aged 16 and above, though younger teens who enjoy historical fiction may also love them.

At the moment, we deliver exclusively within the UK via Royal Mail. We're exploring international shipping for the future if you'd like to be notified when we expand, please get in touch and we'll add you to our waiting list.

Each collection consists of 12 letters delivered over 6 months (2 per month). At the end, the story reaches a satisfying conclusion. You can then choose a new collection to begin, or simply keep your letters as beautiful keepsakes.

If a letter goes missing, just drop us a line at our Contact page and we'll send a replacement right away. Every story deserves to be read in full we won't let Royal Mail get in the way of that.

Yes. All our envelopes and packaging are made from recycled and recyclable materials. We use vegetable-based inks and source our paper from FSC-certified suppliers. Beautiful things shouldn't cost the earth.
